This Head is Mine

I previously mentioned that I have a bad habit of not taking notes when I visit museums. It took me an hour of searching to find details about this head I saw at the Seattle Art Museum last August.


This is Robert Arneson's "This Head is Mine" from 1980.  Arneson specialized in ceramic art.  He made a few self portraits in this style.


This piece has lots of strange messages all over.


I played with a lot of settings on my Nokia 808 Pureview with these photos.  This is the only one that got the color right.


I find it hard to get a knack for close ups.  I picked the wrong spots to focus.




Artists are weird.  That's what makes them artists.

Two night photos of Los Angeles City Hall

I was downtown last Saturday and saw City Hall lit up in blue, so I took a couple of  photos with my Nokia 808 Pureview


This first photo was done in 8 megapixel using Pureview.


This second photo was done in 38 megapixels full resolution.

Flora at the Huntington Botanical Gardens

The following group of 808 Pureview photos were taken in the Conservatory where tropical plants are housed.  I missed out on the carnivorous plants. :(

This place was so big, I was too exhausted from walking around to see everything.  I missed 2/5 of the outdoor gardens and everything indoors.  Thus I have goals for my next visit.
